Just D/L'ed the GTK RPM for the latest stable (I am using RH7.1 Intel, KDE
2.1.1) Seemed to install with no hiccups at all.
When I execute the script 'abiword' I get a message the it can't find the
"Times New Roman" font, which indeed xfontsel can't find either.
Checking the website, I saw that one needs to run xset to add the path to the
TrueType fonts. Since this is a dual boot and I have the windows VFAT
partition mounted under RH7.1, it seemed this would be simple but I did not
get it to work. I tried all the combinations that seemed reasonable to no
avail. Here is an example.
[root@localhost hs]# xset +fp /win/win98/fonts
X Error of failed request: 86
Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath)
Serial number of failed request: 9
Current serial number in output stream: 11
The xset man page seems to say that I did it right but clearly not so and I
did not find any explanation of the error codes.
Could someone either tell me what I am doing wrong or point me to a page
which would do the same? Thanks much!
