Times New Roman was very hardcoded, but it is getting gradually more
abstract. So it is something people are aware of.
Im not a developer but i follow it as best i can, so as far as i know the
ability to set the default font is not available _yet_
(im replying to ensure you get a prompt reply, if im innaccurate im sure
the developers will clarify but it might take a while as they are busy
coding/working).

There is probably a related bug report in Bugzilla, so if can find it then
add your votes to it so that the developers have a better idea of what
people want.

i took a quick look and maybe this bug is relevant to you
http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1818

if its not accurate or exact enough please take the time submit a more
detailed and specific bug report.
