Look into your windows\AbiSuite folder. Make a copy of the AbiWord.Profile file you'll find there. Edit the file and add the following settings under <Scheme name="_custom" ... />: DocumentLocale="en-US" (do you really want that one? You can probably skip this setting and use Tools|Set Language when you need to switch from language to language), MenuLabelSet="en-US", StringSet="en-US", ToolbarLabelSet="en-US". I just checked -- it works. If you sc**w something up, backup from the previously made copy.
