Intuitively, this should perhaps be done by the normal.awt template, but
that method fails. What I needed to do to achieve this was open the
AbiWord.Profile file, and, under the _custom_ scheme, add the line
DocumentLocale="pt-BR"
there. And it worked. Just please, do NOT use AbiWord to edit that file.
