Your English is fine, its the message that is important and your English is probably as good as my <insert-language-here>... I tried this before, and yes all you need to run abiword is the Abiword.exe binary. How did you get it small enough to fit on a floppy disk? What kind of compression did you use (zip/gzip/upx etc) ? (as far as i know SFX just means that it is self extracting i dont think it implies a specific type of compression, if you dont know telling me the program you used might help) i was talking about this on IRC not realising some one had just posted to the list about it. I mention this kind of thing every no and again, it has been suggesetd that some day Abiword might even be available for Palmtop computers (although no one is working on this at the moment). At some stage after v1.0 the importers and exporters will be abstracted out and made as plugins instead of being built in. This will make abiword a little bit smaller. If you are interested in taking this further you might consider playing around with the installer. http://www.nullsoft.com/free/nsis/ Essentially installers are just complicated Self Extracting Archives/Compressed Files. Im going to go off and try this again, knowing that you were able to fit abiword on a floppy disk is very encouraging. On Tue, 5 Feb 2002, Joerg Schlueter wrote: > processor AbiWord. I also think it is important to have open source software even if the Operating system is not Open Source/Free Software. You should take a look at the Gimp, it is also available for windows.
