Since the document listed in the FAQ is an .abw doc, I had to reinstall Abiword just to see that doc. I was of course assuming that this document came with the RPM install. But no. It doesn't exist on my hard drive. I used both find and slocate and it's definitely not there.
Ok, so it doesn't come with the Ximian distribution. I head back to the Abiword site and grab the 15MB tarball. Thank goodness for cable/dsl. After extracting the source and after some fishing and nosing around I did find there was another abw doc that had the appropriate info. The correct doc is actually called problemsfonts.abw. Whew, my problems are solved, I thought. Not quite. The fix looks more difficult and requires more effort than I am willing to expend right now. Screw it.
