I'm unable to open word document with AbiWord 1.01 neither under Windows 98 or under Debian 2.0 when these have a password protection. Under Debian, I'm rejected exactly in the same way as if my password was wrong. Under WIN 98, ABIWORD crashes. In WORD you can have two password : one for reading, one for updating the document. The password is the same for both in my situation, but ABIWORD handles my answer wrongly. The characters used in the password are platform independent (no character over the eauivalent 127 ASCII).
