In all likelihood the application would crash upon
attempting to dynamically link the two libraries. Anyhow,
the problem you report is curious. I have downloaded OpenSSL
and Abiword 1.0.2, installed the two together on a Mandrake
8.1 with RPM and the whole thing works just fine.
