if you have a PC (386, 486, 586, 686, Pentium, Duron, Athlon, K6, K7) then
it's 'i386', otherwise it's not. Apple Macs these days are PowerPC (which 
means that in addition to being unbearably cute & cool they're powerful)
thus 'ppc', and other machines mostly are compatible with 'ppc'.

Which is understandable. Given a choice, wouldn't you prefer to be
compatible with a Mac?
