FWIW, I've been running Red Hat distributions since version 4.1. My
experience has taught me to avoid all x.0 distributions. Of all of 'em, 5.0
was the least bothersome; 6.0 was a major PITA and I didn't bother upgrading
from 6.2 to 7.3 until last month.
There are plenty of folks -- at least, locally -- who run multiple
distributions, play and hack to their heart's content. I, on the other hand,
use my systems in a production environment, to run my business. I'll leave
the testing and tuning of the bleeding edge to those and I'll remain safely
back from the edge. :-)
