Hi, In spite of F-J and Peter C's judicious advices , I pass a complete day on the problem. It was impossible to install AbiWord-1.1.0-2.tar.bz2 on my Mdk-9.0 Of course, the reason is I am null, and not Mdk is not conform to uses, and if you have not the AW's-files prepared by them, you are certain to loose a week to try all that you know, without effects. Therefore, I returned to my W-1.0.3=Mdk-RPMs installed without any problem on my recent Mdk-8.2.
... And, of course, I found the classic "you have not the following libs, " libpng.so.2 (I was able to find it!) " libcrypto.so.2 " libssl.so.2 " and installation has aborted!" "crypto" and "ssl" are impossible to find without to have to enter gigantic packages, where they are present WITH A QUANTITY OF LIBS which generate conflicts with the new libs versions collection of the Mdk-9.0... and installation is refused!!! If I return a day to WinMerde, it will be for that insoluble libraries problems! To install a new logiciel is, in advance, percepted as a nightmare, and you are finally obliged to use "nodeps" and "force" of very bad reputation! I used these "bad famed" tools, and AbiWord turns... ... but I have a 8-Mb core file each time I open it... I think I am thinking to leave to pass to Kword!... Other solution, you open a special directory on your site, in order to put "libcrypto.so.2" and "libssl.so.2" at our disposal!... -- Ce sont toujours nos bons sentiments Qui nous font faire de vilaines choses! Jean Anouilh (1910-1987) - "Ardle". ----------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
