I checked that again. Unfortunately same behaviour. First time I plugged HDMI I even had a picture in picture situation, the external screen showing 640x480 pixel of the ac100 screen. But the option 'same image in all monitors' of the Monitor preferences GUI was greyed out.
I then managed to separate the screens, but still I have no possibilities to modify the resolution of the external screen.
