Don't know if this helps, but if you can make a subreport for the textboxes, then you can have a border around the subreport.

If I use the label I only get a box around the textboxes for that line and then another box around the textboxes on the next row.
 
If I have 10 lines of data, I want one box to show around these text boxes for all ten rows. Sort of like a border for the entire page of detail.
