Hi Bahadur,

In your query create a field AvailableItems: RECEIVED_QTY - ISSUED_QTY and
put this on your form to show how much is available.
In the AfterUpdate event field you use to enter the Issued_Qty you could say
something like:

If amount to issue > available then
    if VBYes = Msgbox("Request for issue exceeds available stock. Issue
available stock?", VBYesNo, "Demand exceeds available stock") Then
        <Issue available stock and backorder difference>
        <adjust inventory>
        Exit Sub
    Else
        <Backorder request>
        Exit Sub
    End If
End If

<Fill Order>
<Adjust Inventory>

You have a few blanks to fill in but you can see what you have to do.

Good luck

Subject: [AccessDevelopers] Stock Balance Reports

Dear  All.

I want gain some idea regarding running programmed related in maintaining
stock report.  For that some of query mentioned below;

1. I have table format in Data base with field containing

    ID Date ITEM NO. ITEM NAME ISSUED_QTY
RECEIVED_QTY
    XX        XX/XX/XX         123              ABC
50                    100

    We are entering the Issued_Qty and Received_qty with the help of
separate table based form. Actually in my table there is no balance_qty
(quantity) is showed, it is maintained in query itself. But I would like
the query to notify me the balance stock available while making new entry
related to issued items in the Issued_qty form. If the balance is nil
related to particular item, the issued entry should not be acceptable.

Thanking in advance.
Bahadur Shah
