Are other built-in toolbars (i.e., the default menu bar, formatting toolbar, etc) available?  You might check the Startup options (Tools >> Startup) to see if the "Allow Built-In Toolbars" option got unchecked somehow.
 
(sorry, now that I look, it's probably the "Allow Default Shortcut Menus" that would be causing this problem)
 
Have you determined that this is a problem in newly-created db's in 2000?  Have you tested the problem file on another PC?  I think a big part of solving this is determining whether it's file-specific or PC-specific.  Startup options are file-specific.  If the same problem occurs with any MDB on that PC, I think you need to look at the installation (i.e., reinstall).

No, since I was able to right-click in other access files.  I tried
creating a new database and importing the tables, forms, etc. from
the existing database, and the right-click now works.  Thanks for the
