There is no spyware blocker that can protect and/or fix everything, especially considering there are new spyware methods of "attack" devised all the time.  I've had a client with spyware so nasty, I had to reboot into safe mode, run some little tool, then reboot normally, run another tool, and then finish up with a virus scan to remove the rest.  Way too much to explain in a short message here, but I doubt any spyware remover could have handled it.

The best place I've found for help is http://forums.spywareinfo.com/.

One of the best spyware tools is Hijack This, available from www.download.com.  It scans your registry and gives you a list of a bunch of stuff (startup programs, browser hijacks, etc.) .  Be careful using it though, since most of the list will be legitimate stuff.  Only a few things (none on a clean machine) will need to be deleted.

Subject: [AccessDevelopers] SPYWARE ON MY PC

Hi Friends

Thanks very much for helping me sort out various problems including non-access related ones. Incidentally I've come with another one that has really hit me unexpectedly this afternoon. I was surfing the net when all of a sudden I saw a message on my desktop in very big letters saying my pc is infected and an icon appeared on my taskbar with the same message. I immediately launched my big brother Microsoft AntiSpyware (I'm using Beta1 which is expiring in about two months time) which reported that it had found 5 infections and were later removed. Surprisingly the big-lettered message on the desktop remains intact and it has completely taken over my desktop. When I try to follow the URL on the desktop I'm taken to www.teslaplus.com/search.php?wmid=9&sub=0&q=Removers which advertises other anti-spyware programs, PSGuard.com and WorldAntiSpy.com.

This is the first time such a problem has ever occurred to me. Could this mean Microsoft AntiSpyware program is of no use? I think what is installed on my pc without my consent is a spyware . How can I remove this? Can anyone please come to my rescue? Time and again a message comes on my taskbar saying my pc is infected. I'm quite annoyed by this.

Thanks in advance
