Look at the properties of the subform control on your mainform. Do the Link Child Fields and Link Master Fields properties contain values that would link the mainform to the subform? From your description, it sounds as though this should be authorid. I'm not an expert, but this is the first thing I'd check. Hope this makes some sort of sense! Cheers Cathy
