On a bound form if you put
me.dirty=false
in the lostfocus event then that will force Access to save the record.
Be careful however, if there are other required fields in the table that aren't entered on the form yet, then there will be an error when you try to save.

Subject: [AccessDevelopers] Trying to save a new record in a form

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to manually save through a macro and/or VB while a new record is being entered in a form?

I have a form with the following fields:

Date, Time, Initials

What I basically want to do is save the new record being entered in the form after the focus has been lost on the Date field.  I've tried looking at some the books that I have and they all basically say that once the "cursor" is moved off the new record, it will be saved.  But what I want to do is save it after the first field has been populated.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Jose
