Thank you Version B is exactly what I was looking for.  I will spend quite some time digging into the code to decipher what you have done, so I can duplicate it in other situations.  I really appreciate your helping me.

Subject: Re: [AccessDevelopers] Multi Column Report

Dawn,

Your presumption regarding creation of an array of required heights is correct.

Points raised in 2nd & 3rd para of your post pertain mainly to various settings prevailing in your original file. While carrying out the modification for enforcing balanced display of columns in the subreport, these other settings had been left generally undisturbed.

Revised file named RecipesSubReport_Fixed_02.zip, now uploaded to the files section, should be able to address your other concerns. The zipped folder contains two files. Version A displays the recipes in continuation, while in version B, each new recipe commences at a new page (apparently this is the style that you are aiming at). There is no repetition of group header information in either version.

You might like to test thoroughly and confirm whether the points raised by you stand properly covered.

Best wishes,
A.D.Tejpal

Thank you for your assistance with this.  I have looked at your solution, and although I do not fully understand it, I do see that what you have done is open the sub report first and are creating an array of required heights of the individuals. (I think)

However, now each recipe does not start on a new page, and in fact they duplicate the header information onto the next page.  For instance Monterey Spinach Melts first appears on page 3 correctly, and then the header information again appears on page 4, which should be dedicated to Spinach Dip.  Spinach Dip then duplicates on page 5.

I've looked at the page break information according to the headers and do not see how I can get the report to force a page break, and not duplicate the RecipeID Header information.

Thanks again for all your help.

Caution - The report to be opened only via click event of label 5 on the main menu form, captioned "Preview Recipe Cards" (i.e. not directly from database window).
