Sounds interesting the mosquitto project appears to be started 2009 oct and they are still doing upgrades so that's a promising sign. no point moving to some other strange protocol nobody updates. the only problem is how many other clients are there if you go more mainstream then there should already be ipad iphone android apps to allow technical people to monitor chat and be out of room.
