Hi Jeremy, You can try to connect to the Access Grid Support Centre Test Room which is normally available 24/7.
This VV loops back incoming audio on approx. a 5 second delay. It also loops back video. We use it to check connectivity, fire settings etc. You can either use multicast or the "AGSC" bridge. Remember that to ensure connectivity all participants must use the same bridge. Here are the details: AGSC Test Room IP 233.33.100.16 Audio: 57004 IP 233.33.100.16 Video: 57006 AGSC Test Room AG3 URL: https://sam.ag.manchester.ac.uk:8000/Venues/00000103eb4b8f4600c0009600b8005ab30 I hope this helps Regards, Paul Kuchar AGSC, Collaborative Working Developments Research Computing Services Room 1.005, Devonshire House University of Manchester, M13 9PL, United Kingdom t: +44(0)161-275 0668 f: +44(0)161-275 6120 e: paul.kuc...@manchester.ac.uk w: http://www.rcs.manchester.ac.uk/about/people/kuchar http://www.manchester.ac.uk http://www.rcs.manchester.ac.uk -----Original Message----- From: ag-tech-boun...@lists.mcs.anl.gov [mailto:ag-tech-boun...@lists.mcs.anl.gov] On Behalf Of Jeremy Mann Sent: 26 March 2010 21:59 To: ag-tech Subject: [AG-TECH] Echo test room? I seem to recall somebody has a venue capable of repeating back to the user their audio. Can somebody send me that venue address? I have one person who has a continual audio receiving problem that I cannot seem to figure out. This venue would help because he could go there and try over and over to reproduce the problem. I'm hoping if we can reproduce it in this environment, it may help me diagnose his problem. Also, I fixed one users problem on Ubuntu Karmic. The pulseaudio daemon was interfering with RAT. There was no init script so in the end, the solution was to quit RAT, rename /usr/bin/pulseaudio to /usr/bin/pulseaudio.bak and restart RAT. Now he could "see" the ALSA and OSS devices for his soundcard. -- Jeremy Mann jer...@biochem.uthscsa.edu University of Texas Health Science Center Bioinformatics Core Facility http://www.bioinformatics.uthscsa.edu Phone: (210) 567-2672
