Just an update on this, installing VPCScreen was easy, but python itself
requires dependencies, which themselves require dependencies (sounds
familiar?!)...

I'll hopefully be OK if I just get python installed - but what's wrong with my
current version:

[root@kuipers ag]# rpm -q python
python-2.4.4-1.fc6

Why can I not just use this.

Looking at a package distributor:

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/3/srodzaj/1/search/python(abi)

It seems that python 2.5 is only available for FC7 onwards. We are running FC5
and FC6 here.

Surely FC7/8 isn't a requirement of AG3.1 ?

Please help!

Regards, Ben.

Subject: [AG-TECH] Errors when upgrading AG3 server

I already mentioned a while back when trying to install the first Beta AG3
release that it failed on the VPCScreen dependency.

Someone said it would be looked into.

I've just attempted to upgrade another VenueServer (running on another machine)
from v3.01 to the latest Beta version, and receive the following errors:

Error: Missing Dependency: python(abi) = 2.5 is needed by package AccessGrid
Error: Missing Dependency: VPCScreen is needed by package AccessGrid

Why are these not called up from the repository and installed?

The other problem I encountered during this installation was that the
'--nogpgcheck' option was not understood during yum localinstall:

Command line error: no such option: --nogpgcheck

So I had to run the yum installation without with option.

Any comments/suggestions will be most welcome,

Regards, Ben.
