The Argonne bridge machine has now been moved to its new IP address. It will take some time (perhaps as long as two days) for the new IP address to propagate over DNS.
Please update your firewall rules accordingly, if you had configured for the earlier IP address (which was 140.221.9.16). If you have any questions, let us know. Tom Uram -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Argonne bridge machine IP change 1/26 List-Post: accessgrid-tech@lists.sourceforge.net Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2007 11:47:55 -0600 From: Thomas D. Uram <tu...@mcs.anl.gov> To: ag-tech <ag-t...@mcs.anl.gov> In order to provide better multicast service to the Argonne bridge machine, the machine will be relocated to a different segment of the Argonne network. The hostname of the Argonne bridge machine is milton.mcs.anl.gov. Currently, the IP address of the host is 140.221.9.16. On Friday, January 26, at 6pm, the machine will be moved to the new network segment, where it will have the IP address 140.221.34.12. If you rely on the Argonne bridge, you may have to update your firewall configuration to allow traffic from the new IP address. If you're not sure, share this information with your network administrators. And a general note: information about the hostnames and port ranges used by bridges can always be obtained in the VenueClient by selecting Tools->Preferences, then Network. If you have any questions about this move, please ask. Tom Uram
