Sam,

  Just a note for reference.  Apparently RAT doesn't support the Realtek ALC650 
sound card either, at least not very well.  RAT does recognize the card but 
will not run for more than a short period of time without crashing.  So if 
you're looking at a new system you may want something without the Realtek card.
