Thanks Doug and Chris Yes the system had been upgraded from FC4 to FC5 rather than a fresh install.
It appears that some of the rpm's were FC4 versions even though the system had been updated to FC5 =-/ The very first thing I did when AG2.4 failed to launch was "yum remove compat-AccessGrid" then "yum install compat-AccessGrid" why did compat-AccessGrid not complain about failed dependencies? when the following is what fixed the situation. rpm -e wxPython-common-gtk2-ansi wxPython2.6-gtk2-ansi wxPython2.6-devel-gtk2-ansi compat-AccessGrid then yum install wxPython yum install compat-AccessGrid Did the trick Chris Kendrick VPAC On Thu, 2006-08-10 at 12:26 +1000, Christoph Willing wrote: > On 10/08/2006, at 11:50 AM, Chris Kendrick wrote: > > > Hi > > > > For some reason I get the attached error when trying to launch AG2.4 > > "VenueClient24 --personalNode" on a FC5 install. > > > > It appears to be because the object file libgstplay-0.8.so.0 is not > > installed, but it is also not installed (or anything similar) on > > another > > FC5 Box with AG2.4 installed on it and that works fine. > > > > Both boxes have gstreamer-0.10.4-1 so I'm not quite sure what is > > particularly wrong. > > Looks like a dependecy in wxPython.
