I can speak for Shared Presentation, at least: It does not currently work on OSX. An RPC mechanism is used to communicate with powerpoint on Windows (COM) and on Linux (pyuno, afair). A similar setup has not been worked out on the Mac; if someone on the list is knowledgeable about such a mechanism, patches to the core code would be welcome.
