Welcome to February's Virtual Institute for using the Access Grid in Education!
This session will be held on February 14, 2006 beginning at (3:30 CST; 4:30
EST; 2:30 MST; 1:30 PST).
The agenda for this meeting includes a demonstration of materials developed by
the San Diego Supercomputer Center and tools developed by the National Center
for Supercomputing Applications for K-20 classrooms. NCSA Databridge (
http://education.ncsa.uiuc.edu/databridge/) and NCSA EasyViz (
http://education.ncsa.uiuc.edu/easyviz/) were developed to help educators
visualize data sets quickly and easily to help incorporate the use of
scientific data in the classroom.
Jeff Sale, SDSC will also demonstrate the Educational Data Portal (
http://education.sdsc.edu/edportal/moodle/) which his is developing as part of
the EPIC program.
We will also have time to discuss options for the K12 classroom in terms of
what would it take (funding; tech support) in order for a school/district to
take advantage of this tremendous technology.
Jim Miller, of inSORS ( http://www.insors.com/) will join us and help us
determine the issues and offer some solutions
Also, please don't forget that we need your ideas/input on the AG in Education
white paper posted on the Moodle VI:

We may have time to discuss this as well. Edee
