We've been doing some work on running an AG node using XEN. XEN is a machine virtualisation monitor, allowing a single machine to behave like multiple machines. The main advantage of running an AG node in this way is the ability keep the benefits of a multi-machine node, yet requiring only a single physical machine. In practice, this comes down to the separation of display and video capture functions. Anyone who has run a multi-camera single machine AG node will be aware of the useability nightmare in any except the smallest of meetings. This problem is completely solved by using XEN.
