I narrowed this problem down to the Hauppauge WinTV card driver. If I disable
the device, vic works fine with a webcam or runs without a resource (not
transmitting). When I enable the capture card again and select the card as a
resource in vic's menu, vic crashes. However, it does not crash if I just
enable the driver without selecting the WinTV card as a resource. The moment I
do that vic will crash in any situation until I disable the WinTV card driver
again. It looks like AGTk 2.4 has a serious issue with this particular driver.
It is a shame, because most setup descriptions on the Net recommend this
particular capture card.

If anybody out there has a good idea, I would appreciate that!!!

Zsolt

Yea, the WinTV cards of any age are BT878 based, and so work great.
