Hello AG Tech, What methods do you use to resolve audio issues before and during a live Access Grid event?
Really how much can be done? What are some of the usual and more unusual issues you faced and how were you able to resolve them (or not)? * Things I can do before an event is test the audio and hope that the quality will remain. * If the audio is not that good, we can reboot local grid services; perform a trace route and/or multicast trace route seeking out bottleneck routers (including cache limiting issues) or firewalls. If firewalls are blocking audio traffic, what can be done besides requesting those ports being opened, which would be the best case? * I can double audio packets in RAT. This does not even begin to touch local audio and echo cancellation troubleshooting. I will be posting those questions in future emails ;) Thank you, John John Langkals Systems Manager OCTS M2021 Physics Research Building 191 West Woodruff Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43210 614.292.6957 Office 614.327.3732 Cell 614.292.7557 FAX www.octs.osu.edu
