Dear colleagues I am please to announce that I have just ported a tutorial located on the Access Grid Documentation Project website to AG-Central called "Access Grid Operational Guide for Linux" (http://agcentral.org/help/tutorial/agopguideforlinux/).
"The operational guide for the Access Grid has been designed to help users start and use the Access Grid and its associated software. This guide has been written using the Linux operating system, Fedora Core 3. Though, it should be mentioned that there are a lot of similarities for the Access Grid software that can be transposed to most of the other platforms. This operational guide has been split into a number of sections, including the operating of the Access Grid using the AG2.3 software and the running of each media applications manually. This guide demonstrates how to run operate a multi-node (Room based) Access Grid and a single node (Portable) Access Grid. This guide also contains sections on how to display video streams and how to shutdown your node. Other sections of this guide demonstrates how additional devices can be used in conjunction with the Access Grid and a few troubleshooting tips are provided throughout the guide. There are a few things that this guide will assume: * This guide will assume that you are familiar with your operating system but not necessarily familiar with the Access Grid software. * This guide will also assume that your Access Grid has been configured correctly and ready to use. If you need assistance in doing this you may wish to visit http://agcentral.org/help/ and investigate the other documentation there. * This guide will assume that you are familiar with the particular setup you are using (ie you are not at someone else's node). This guide will use the terminology "video wall". This is where you display video streams, whether it is through projectors onto a wall, plasma screens, or multiple monitors." If you have any questions, or find sections that are in error, please don't hesitate to contact me. Most of the documentation on AG-Central are living documents and will hopefully be improved as the AG Technology improves and changes.
