I think the Berkeley openmash version is currently only used for the OSX release of the AG toolkit. The default version is based on the UCL version, but with some changes - available via: http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/fl/research/accessgrid/software/cvs.html or (for web viewing) at; http://fl-cvs.mcs.anl.gov/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/ag-media/ From the vic directory, look in the video directory for all the grabber-*.cpp files - they're the ones which integrate different devices for vic - in particular grabber-video4lnux.cpp. > > While I'm debugging this I think I'll go on a hunting mission to find > if we have some Hauppauge WinTV PCI (model 401) lying around. The main issue here is that the v4l driver assumes one of the BT878 family of chips on the video card. A number of manufacturers (including Hauppauge) are now using a different chip, typically a Conexant brand > > In regards to VLC, you are allowed to use multiple instances and > multiple streams, I'm trying to tinker with the tool to allow me to > view multiple streams while its being sent to the destination IP. Yes, it would be great to have a grabber application that needs just a single instance to deal with multiple video streams. chris Christoph Willing Ph: +61 7 3365 8350 QPSF Access Grid Manager University of Queensland
