Thanks Derek / Peter for those comments. I'll be testing the Matrox QID PCI-e Card in the next few days. I believe it is built for Low Profile machines but comes with a bracket to fit ATX cases? We would be looking at putting in an ATX case.
I have tried the Spectra8 Card and it works well under Windows. The only problem however is under windows xp, every time I go into a room, 4 popups come up and I have to select each of the video sources. Not a big problem but quite annoying. Is there a way around this? Can this be hard coded into the Access Grid to automatically select each of the video sources? I know that this problem doesn't happen under Linux. Also Winnov Video Quattro Cards are a possiblilty. I have read in earlier posts that quite a few people use this. Does it work well under Windows XP? It works very well, just like 4 independent capture cards except it's only taking up one slot. I don't know if the Osprey has the same chips on it, I know the Osprey 100 we have uses the 878 so I could *assume* that it does, but I don't know. We have a Matrox QID AGP, but we run ours in 'stretched' 2x2 mode and have had no problems at all. We didnt have another mainboard to test it with, so the problems may have been compatability issues, but im leaning to the driver issue myself. In the end we left it in the AG, and will prob use it in others. > > Didnt know there was a 4 channel osprey, gonna check that one out > myself > > Peter > > > > >> Hi all, > >> > >> Just wanting to know if anyone has experimented with or is > currently using >> any of these two pieces of hardware under an Access Grid session. > >> > >> Osprey 440 - 4 Port PCI video capture card (due to be > commercially release >> shortly) >> Matrox QID PCI-e Video Card - > 4x DVI / VGA output graphics card >> >> Also when testing AG 2.3 > with standard onboard motherboard soundcards on >> pc's, when we > increased the audio quality on RAT using the Linear Codec >> up to > 44khz that it would generally crash after around 5 minutes.
