We had some multicast trouble, and we were able to see some multicast groups and some were missing.
Maybe with a multicast beacon you can check your multicast connection with some other sites that have the beacon running. Maybe, running a beacon is a good idea, as you can check if your site is having special trouble with many sites. ----- Original Message ----- From: langkals<mailto:langk...@pacific.mps.ohio-state.edu> To: ag-t...@mcs.anl.gov<mailto:ag-t...@mcs.anl.gov> Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2005 4:44 PM Subject: [AG-TECH] Multicast/unicast bridge question and invitation Greetings AG-Tech, I was in a conference yesterday over the NCSA venue Mosaic. I was a multicast site. There were others that were unicast and I was able to view their conference just fine. We had a "unicast" PIG in the room and it was receiving additional unicast streams we did not see on our multicast session. I thought this venue has a built in unicast/multicast bridge. I selected unicast and then all the sites were available. Any ideas? Bad multicast on our end? Our site is currently being born and we will be testing this Friday all day. It is listed in the AG Schedule as Testing Strongly Interacting Quantum Gases. Even if you will not be able to make the conference on 4.18-4.21, I would really enjoying meeting you via the Grid and test. Have a great day!
