Thank you for the information. Is RedHat Enterprise Linux WS Version 3 supported?

Notice the document should be dated sometime in 1999/2000, in four years hardware has significantly changed. The typical configuration that seems to work well for most people these days is two compuers, one running XP and serving the display (and sometimes audio) functionality, and the other running some variant of linux providing the video capture (and more commonly also the audio) functionality. There are choices for which linux to run, the supported variants (also on the agtk website you found) are Fedora Core, Slackware, Gentoo, and Debian. The reason the video capture box is still better to build as linux these days has to do with the driver support in the software we use to capture and transmit video. It works more reliably and with less use configuration and tweaking on linux systems than windows. For "support building this system" you're on your own. This is an open source project, we give you the software, documentation, manuals and access to a community (via the ag-tech mailing list) for free. We can't really afford to offer you more than that ;-). --Ivan > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-ag-i...@mcs.anl.gov > [mailto:owner-ag-i...@mcs.anl.gov] On Behalf Of Patrick Johnson > Sent: Tuesday, September 14, 2004 4:48 PM > To: ag-i...@mcs.anl.gov > Subject: AGN OS > > I've been tasked with building an Access Grid Node.
