Um, there's no echo cancellation in vic; vic handles video only. So maybe they meant rat, but there's no echo cancellation there either. Maybe they meant silence suppression? But still, I'm not sure how that would help.
Can you send more details? I'll bet somebody here can help out. Are you getting any error messages?
