Pete,
I don't know if this is needed by any Windows AT today. I believe it is
used a little bit by Dasher on UNIX, and perhaps also by GOK on UNIX.
This API enables AT to avoid having to inject keystrokes (which was
tricky the last time I looked into doing this - for outSPOKEN on Windows
a ~17 years ago). It can be useful for international text entry support
too (I've had some conversations with internationalization folks at Sun
who thought the UNIX/GNOME edition of this API might be nice to use to
create Japanese text entry system).
Peter
Since applications always work hard to integrate with the clipboard,
is IAEditableText needed?
