The Linux port of IA2 was an attempt to provide a D-Bus API for accessibility.
It has now been obsoleted by the D-Bus port of AT-SPI (AT-SPI2).

The IA2 port was useful for investigating whether D-Bus can be used for
accessibility. It was written at a time when there were many doubts in the
AT-SPI community about the idea of porting AT-SPI itself to D-Bus. These
doubts have been addressed in the meantime. AT-SPI2 seems to be progressing
well and should be considered the future for accessibility support on Linux.
