It was suggested some time ago that the version string should not
contain information that would not require a change in behavior on the
part of the AT. 

Here are two options for text I could put on the out parameter of that
method:

1) The version string should contain 3 levels, e.g. "3.6.0" rather than
"3.6.0.v201005131500".
2) The version string should only contain enough information to indicate
when a client's behavior must be adjusted, e.g. "3.6.0" rather than
"3.6.0.v201005131500".

In other words, is it OK to specify that the version string must be
limited to 3 levels?
