Regarding the proposal for additions to IA2 for HTML5 media, I believe
the consensus is that no changes are needed to IAccessible2.
1) Accessible GUI controls should be used to control the media for the
following functions: play, pause, and control of volume, position, and rate.
2) IAccessibleAction and ARIA live regions should be used to synchronize
the streaming of text descriptions as follows:
- The text cue is presented via a live region.
- A "resume" action indicates completion of the presentation of the text
cue. For TTS the action would be activated at the end of the TTS
output. For Braille a Braille key would result in activation of the action.
- An "open" action provides ref counting so that the video will not
resume playback until all users of the interface signal readiness to
proceed.
Does that cover it? If so, are there any objections to not changing IA2?
