hello dear,
Intel solo processors is a single unit derived from two units of intel dual
core processor.
It inherits from M processors series only but has much better power management.
A dual processor consumes same power as a penteum m processor of half
performance. This implies that solo will consume half of it.
Other technical advantages are not observable while doing normal work on
laptop. it includes.
increased bus frequency about 20% and also increased graphics and multimedia
support.
And a disadvantage of reduced cache retreval speed.

While normal working it may look same as penteum m untill analysed in depth.
But the power management is observable
and better power management means less heat dissipation which is also an
advantage
While buying any laptop it is now important to verify its support for windows
vista. So please check this also.
  with regards

  Dear friends,
there is a new laptop by HP numbered V 3018 TU.
The configuration broadly is 1.7 GHz core solo processor, 512 RAM, 60GB hard
disk, DVD writer, 14 inch screen.

I want to know little urgently, that whether one should go for this new
processor based laptop? are there any known issues concerning their
functioning?
ofcourse the intel website talks good about it and says these are better
than the Pentium M processor. these were launched in January 2006.

An informed feedback would be much appreciated.

thanks and regards,
