Asif CII core group on disability met on July 12, 2006 on premises of Pricewaterhousecoopers at 4:00p.m. Sujit Gupta, chairman CII core disability group, chaired the sessions. Various speakers from NGO's, corporate and CII took part in the meet. CII would like to facilitate in creating awareness of people with alternative ability. And they have framed code of conduct for disabled which are to be adapted volunteer by CII members. CII would like to take up a task on sensitizing corporate about potential and capabilities of people with alternative abilities. CII plan to conduct workshop whose objective to create awareness about potentials of disabled community and appeal corporate to create employment opportunities for the same. This meeting has resulting in forming a disability shell which would provide information on job carried out by disabled individuals by their existing CII members and members could consult this shell if they would like to explore employing people with differently baled people. CII eastern zone already had two meetings in the last months. CII also agreed to include people with disability in this exercise. I just hope that this exercise just does not remain in meetings and talks but materialize into actions. I am just copying road map agreed by CII. Wednesday, July 12, 2006 Roadmap for CII Generating awareness: a.. 1. Disability Link on their web sites. This link could be placed on CII web site for all members to access the same. This link could contain informations on types and various job role performed by people with alternative ability. b.. 2. disabled example in CII seminar and summit. The best way to convince members is through actions and presenting live examples. Successful people like me could be given a slot to present for 10-15 minutes and share their success stories. This would also act as an eye opener for CII members. c.. 3. Including a section in their newsletter on Disability sensitizations. Newsletter could focus issue on latest technology for disabled community and it could also highlight latest job role carried out by these individuals. a.. Database of disabled employed with various industries. A comprehensive database could be prepared on People with disability performing their job role. This database should capture information such as personal profile along with the companies, job designations, and job role. Long term vision 1..
