Hello friends, I think human necessities are not bound by a particular culture. I need my hand be held by somebody while crossing across- so may a person in US or UK IF HE HAS no better option. Besides, there would be no scope to broaden our cultural prospects if we refuse, as somebody said, 'suggestions/ from other countries. I would be first to apologise to my foreign peers if such things touch them deep. I know most Indian women hesitate holding hand because either they could not see so far beyond their overcapping Indian cultural heritage over the issue or they might not welcome so to say 'suggestions' from other part of the world. Different cultures may have different unique values but on human potential needs we will be called orthodox if we fail to accept the real truths.
