That is not true, If you have Windows XP SP1, you can certainly remove
it from add/remove programs. Just press space bar on the windows
messenger item in the list and click the OK button.

Windows messenger is an internal component of the windows operating

itself, as far as my knowledge goes, you can not remove this. but you

certainly disable it if you are no longer willing to use it.
