TIRUCHI: It is their way of celebrating the Independence Day for a noble cause. A group of Plus Two students from Thiyagarajar Higher Secondary School has been selling national flags in Tiruchi and Thanjavur to mobilise fund for a home for the physically challenged in Madurai. The Madurai students have sprung into action to extricate the home, run by a service institute, from financial crisis. They have also fixed a target. Each one of them has to sell 600 flags a day. Positioning themselves near traffic signals, they have been able to make their presence felt. The patronage, according to them, is overwhelming. According to V. Panneer, one of the students, the profit of the sale proceeds would be given to the home at Villapuram Housing Board Colony in Madurai. "A group of 25 students has decided to mobilise fund through the sale of flags. While eight are in Tiruchi, the rest are in Thanjavur," says another student P. Mohanapandian. They will sell the flags in Tiruchi till Tuesday. http://www.thehindu.com/2006/08/14/stories/2006081412510100.htm Vikas Kapoor, MSN ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Skype ID: dl_vikas Mobile: (+91) 9891098137.
