Hi, There is no brand restriction as such. The only requirement is that the phones should run on the Symbian Series 60 operating system. Unfortunately (or fortunately in a way), Nokia is the only manufacturer who is seriously interested in designing phones based on the Symbian Series 60 platform or operating system. There are a couple of Samsung phones but they haven't really become popular. So, in short, not all Nokia phones are able to provide access using the screen readers like Talks or Mobile Speak. There is a lot of variety in Nokia models which do enable you to do this however.
Hope this clarifies a little. Regards, Kiran. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Shyam M Sayanekar Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2006 8:06 PM To: accessindia Subject: [AI] Doubt About Talks Dear members, I have a doubt regarding the Softwares used for mobiles. Is it obligatory to have the handset of Nokia only to use the softwares like talks or Mobilespeak? Can they not work on the handsets of Sony or Motorola? Please explain. Thanks in advance Shyam M.
