Hi,

What version of jaws are you using? In my experience, jaws for Windows seven
.zero or jaws for Windows 7.1 work best with Adobe Acrobat reader version 7
or higher. In terms of consistency to PDF file access, a lot depends on how
the file has been produced. Are you buy any chance launching Adobe Acrobat
reader from a browser? If yes, that I suggest you download the PDF that you
want to view, launch Adobe Acrobat reader and then open the file to view it.

Subject: [AI] PDF document accessibility

Hi friends !

I never seem to get consistent accessibility to .pdf documents using Jaws
7.0. The version of Acrobat Reader on my desktop is 7.0 and my OS is
Windows 2000.

Funnily, I never felt the same inconsistency while I was using Jaws 5.X with
Acrobat Reader 6.0 earlier. Last few weeks have been the most frustrating,
since clicking on a .pdf document opens the Acrobat Reader which then seems
to hang the entire system. I am not even able to get the focus of Jaws out
of this window except through the Reset button.

My work involves reading a lot of .pdf documents and this inaccessibility
has been stymieing my productivity. Is it that we have to use a particular
version of Acrobat Reader that is suitable for a screen reader? Or do I
have to make any special configurations in Windows, Jaws or the Acrobat
Reader for getting consistent performance ? Kindly help with your
suggestions.

Thanks and regards
