To access google's web-based word processor go to:

www.writely.com

Here you can save and edit your documents online.  You need to sign up with 
a gmail account, it is free.  You can also share your documents with other 
people you if you wish to.  And, of course, this means once you have created 
the document, you can access the document from anywhere you are, office, 
home, or anywhere else.
