Hi, This was the issue which I had raised earlier. It is very disheartening to note that LIC charges an extra premium for any policies we take on the pretext that a person is blind. It is actually penalising a person for disability. on the contrary if there is concern and social security is to be provided they should provide concession. secondly there are certain pvt insurance companies who consider policies on case to case basis. I have taken a policy from HDFC giving all the relevant disclosures and they haven't charged any extra premium. One fact is to be noted that there is usually an indifferent attitude by the public/Govt sector towards the disabled in all the areas of concern. however to certain extent pvt sector is considerate.Rgds, Rajani
