waw! I am really excited, as Nokia N95 will provide 2 new possibilities, 1. anyware in the world we might be able to use GPS software ( although not extensively till good number of points of interests are available) Points of interest means associating GPS coordinate with discriptive text. There are also some free softwares available, one of them is load stone so if in india there are no readily available maps, users may upload their personal points of interests and slowly those online databases will become large enough to be useful. But even if we do not have readily available POI, we can at least create them for our regular routes and know where we are at a given time.
2. NFB kurzweil reader uses 5 Mega pixel camera to recognize text, and since N95 also has 5 Mega pixel camera, boom! we will just need a good software, and we have a reading / mobility assistance gadget at our hand.
